QUANTICO, Va. - The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing Soldier assigned to the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, Katterbach Kaserne, Germany, Staff Sgt. Jonathan Dean Lane.
Staff Sgt. Lane is 31 years old, approximately 5’ 7”, 160 lbs., and has brown hair. He has tattoos on both arms and shoulders that depict toy blocks with a “J” and a “D”, the words “I’m so proud”, and cartoon sea life images.
On June 23, Staff Sgt. Lane was seen in his vehicle in front of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade’s headquarters, on Katterbach Kaserne. Later that day, he attempted to access Ramstein Air Force Base portraying himself as a civilian, using the name David Hersher. On that same day he attempted to enter Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. He was wearing a blue T-Shirt at the time.
On June 25, his car was found abandoned near the town of Urbach, Rheinland-Pfalz. His last known location was the Koblenz main train station on June 29.
