Army CID Special Agents Partner with School District Officials near Fort Carson, Colorado

Supporting community engagement, Army criminal investigators met with local school district officials in Fountain, Colo., and adjoining Fort Carson recently to discuss safety and security best practices. 
 
Special Agent in Charge Ryan O’Connor, who leads the Central Field Office of the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division met with the Dr. Montina Romero, Deputy Superintendent of Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8. They were joined by leadership of the Army CID Resident Agency, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Derek Tilton and ASAC Michael Kim, as well as Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Joel Hamilton and Director of Human Resources Melissa Patterson.
 
The meetings took place April 17, 2024, and the officials discussed Army CID’s vital partnership with District 8 for the safety and security of students and educators. Several District 8 schools are uniquely situated on the exclusive federal military reservation, most commonly known as Fort Carson.
