Dr. Jacqueline Chando's Professional Journey

Chief of Military Personnel Department

As the Chief of Military Personnel Department (MILPERD), it is incumbent upon me to be the experienced, proven leader, manager, and human resources (HR) professional for Army CID.  I proudly served as a U.S. Army Veteran who led multi-disciplinary medical units from Company, Battalion and Brigade level commands serving in support of contingency operations within the continental U.S., overseas, and in forward areas of conflict. With over 35 years of military and civilian experience, I have a passion for executing the most sacred mission of caring for Soldiers and their families.

I have been serving with Army CID since 2019 where I started as the Deputy G1 subsequently moving into a variety of leadership positions such as: the Army CID G1; Human Resources Department Assistant Director (AD), and MILPERD AD. In my current position as the Chief, MILPERD, I oversee all aspects of Military Human Resource management for more than 1600 Soldiers, and I am enabled to provide excellent support due to the dedication of my great staff.

We can ensure this by guaranteeing a safe/positive climate through aspiring others to provide candid feedback which allows innovative ideas and solutions via the diversity of thought.

I believe a successful team is built on dynamic leadership, candid mentorship, sound advice from friends and peers, driven non commissioned officers, dedicated Soldiers and Department of Army civilians, and most of all, the support of the Army Family. Married for over 35 years to my college sweetheart, I would say my biggest achievement is my husband and two children.
