DJIBOUTI - DJIBOUTI (Feb. 25, 2024) U.S. Army Maj Gen. Jami Shawley, commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, and Rear Adm. Eric Anduze, deputy commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, salute during the opening ceremony of Cutlass Express 2024, in Djibouti. Exercises like Cutlass Express foster trust between participating nations by promoting mutual understanding and cooperation. These established and tested partnerships will help us overcome the challenges that threaten freedom and security on the world's oceans. Exercise Cutlass Express (CE) is one of three African regional "Express" series exercises sponsored by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and facilitated by U.S. Naval Forces Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet (NAVAF/SIXTHFLT).
