Special Agent (SA) Ryan Hall
assumed the duties of Chief of Staff, Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (DACID), in November 2025. He leads the staff for the Department of the Army’s independent criminal investigative agency, consisting of nearly 3,000 personnel assigned to 124 world-wide locations, responsible for felony criminal investigations and operations; war crimes and terrorism investigations; criminal intelligence collection and analysis; cybercrime investigations and operations; multi-dimensional forensics support; and protective service operations for key Department of War leaders.
Prior to his selection, SA Hall served as the Assistant Director for Pentagon Affairs and Interagency Operations, and as the Special Agent in Charge of the Europe Field Office.
Before joining Army CID in April 2023 SA Hall served as a Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) from 2009 until 2023 in a variety of assignments in the CONUS, OCONUS and deployed environment where he conducted and supervised criminal, counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations and operations. His NCIS service included a deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, an assignment as the Personal Security Advisor for the Commander of USINDOPACOM and culminated with an assignment as the Deputy Assistant Director for the Family and Sexual Violence Division at NCIS HQ.
SA Hall began his civilian law enforcement career in 1998 with the Neptune Beach Police Department in Florida, where he served as a Police Officer, Detective and Supervisor. In 2004, he took a temporary leave of absence to train and mentor members of the Iraqi National Police in Baghdad, Iraq on behalf of the U.S. State Department.
Special Agent Hall honorably served as an active duty United States Marine from 1993 until 1997.
Special Agent Hall holds a Master of Science Degree in Public Safety from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the 271st session of the FBI National Academy and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors.
