U.S. Army Criminal Justice Information Systems

The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division, Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) encompasses all facets of criminal justice information inquiries and has access to multiple databases supporting the U.S. Army, Army CID, foreign, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

U.S. Army CJIS performs a full range of activities associated with mandated criminal justice reporting requirement to include: oversight of fingerprint submissions to the FBI, oversight of submissions to the National Instant Background Check System, oversight of DNA submissions, providing training and policies to the field, and leveraging new information technologies to support the Department of the Criminal Investigation Division's core missions.

Positive categorizing and reporting of biometric information such as fingerprints and DNA to criminal justice systems are critical to investigative and tactical actions in addition to proper indexing of criminal histories of subject to enhance public safety and the mission of the CID and the U.S. Army.

U.S. Army CJIS Requests

All formal requests to U.S. Army CJIS must provide the below listed information and must be emailed to usarmy.belvoir.hqda-usacid.mbx.cjis@army.mil or faxed to 571-305-4155. If this is for employment purposes, a physical, ink signed consent form is required.

For law enforcement agencies conducting criminal or employment investigations:

• State the purpose of the request, type of investigation you are conducting, why you are seeking this information, and how the information will be used.

• Include the subject’s full name, date of birth, and complete Social Security Number, not providing the complete SSN may cause significant delays.

• Submit your request from an official agency provided email address.
