Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez: Unsolved Homicide

It has been nearly five years since the death of 21-year-old Specialist Enrique Roman-Martinez. Spc. Roman-Martinez went missing from the Cape Lookout National Seashore in North Carolina in May of 2020. The partial remains of the 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper from Fort Bragg later washed up on Shackleford Banks Island on May 29, 2020.
 
The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the death of Spc. Roman-Martinez as a Cold Case Homicide. Over the past year, Army CID has conducted several investigative operations across the United States and abroad.

While it would be impossible to thank every local, state, and federal partner that has assisted during this time, Army CID would like to thank the U.S. Park Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Laboratories and Scientific Services, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s K-9 Unit, and the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for their recent assistance with investigative efforts at the Cape Lookout National Seashore.
 
Army CID is determined to bring closure to Spc. Roman-Martinez’s family and is continuing to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for credible information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for his death and dismemberment.
