On October 13, 2010, the skull of an adult female, approximately 25-40 years old, was discovered in the vicinity of Spanaway McKenna Highway (WA 507) and Pacific Avenue South (WA 7) inside of Training Area 9 on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. After an extensive search of the area, only a skull and several vertebrae were recovered at the scene.
