Fort Benning CID Battalion
The Benning CID Battalion "Crime Fighters" provides 24/7 felony criminal investigative support to local commanders, service members, and civilians within its assigned operational area. On order, the Benning CID Battalion deploys individual agents and task organized Criminal Investigative Units to locations worldwide to provide both protective security and felony investigative support.
The Battalion has eight subordinate units located at Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Rucker, Alabama; Eglin Air Force Base, Florida: Lakeland, Florida; Camp Shelby, Mississippi; Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, and Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Among key supported Army units within the Battalion’s area of responsibility are U.S. Central Command; U.S. Special Operations Command; U.S. Southern Command; U.S. Army South; Maneuver Center of Excellence; U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center; Joint Readiness Training Center, Joint Forces Training Center, U.S. Army Aviation Center; Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation; and 75th Ranger Regiment. The Benning CID Battalion supports commanders by conducting felony criminal investigations in support of victims, unit readiness and installation quality of life.
