Fort Benning CID Battalion

The Benning CID Battalion "Crime Fighters" provides 24/7 felony criminal Benning logoinvestigative support to local commanders, service members, and civilians within its assigned operational area.  On order, the Benning CID Battalion deploys individual agents and task organized Criminal Investigative Units to locations worldwide to provide both protective security and felony investigative support.

The Battalion has ten subordinate units located at Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort McPherson, Georgia; Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; Fort Rucker, Alabama; Eglin Air Force Base, Florida: Lakeland, Florida; Camp Shelby, Mississippi; Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico and Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras.

Among key supported Army units within the Battalion’s area of responsibility are U.S. Central Command; U.S. Special Operations Command; U.S. Southern Command; U.S. Forces Command; Third U.S. Army; U.S. Army South; 3rd Infantry Division; U.S. Army Infantry School; U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center; U.S. Army Aviation Center; Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation; and 75th Ranger Regiment.  The Benning CID Battalion supports commanders by conducting felony criminal investigations in support of victims, unit readiness and installation quality of life.

The Benning CID Battalion is commanded by LTC Richard E. Felices. The Battalion First Sergeant is 1SG Rhonda Brown.  The Battalion Operations Officer is CW4 Randy Lighty.
