The 75th Military Police Detachment (CID) is headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The Detachment’s core mission is to provide the highest quality criminal investigative support to U.S. Army commanders within the National Capital Region and the Military District of Washington. Furthermore, on order, the Detachment provides investigative support for contingency operations throughout the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
The Fort Belvoir Resident Agency converted to the 75th Military Police Detachment (CID) on September 16, 1998. The transition enabled the unit to provide combat criminal investigative support as prescribed by higher headquarters during times of conflict or war. Since that time, the Detachment has continued its support to the National Capitol Region and was the first on the scene to secure and investigate the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The unit has deployed Special Agents throughout the United States and worldwide to carry out the investigative mission of the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command.
For its most recent deployment, the Detachment spent 12 months in Iraq, covering the largest area of responsibility in theater and conducting investigative operations from Baghdad, Balad, Taji, Mosul and Abu Ghraib.
The 75th Military Police Detachment (CID) commander is SA Alfred M. Diaz. The Detachment Sergeant is SFC Johnathan M. Ojeda.
