Command Sergeant Major, 6th MP Group (CID)
CSM Timothy S. Fitzgerald was born in Canton, Ohio. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO in 1992, and completed Advanced Individual Training for Veterinary Food Inspector at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
CSM Fitzgerald served as a Veterinary Food Inspector at the Fort Huachuca Troop Issue Subsistence Activity from 1992 until 1995. His next assignment was with Veterinary Service Support District, Carlisle Barracks, PA as the District Training and Operations NCO from 1995 until 1998. In 1998, CSM Fitzgerald applied for and was accepted to be a CID Special Agent and completed the Basic Special Agent Course (BSAC) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Upon graduation from the BSAC, CSM Fitzgerald was assigned to the 515th Military Police Detachment (CID) in Hanau, Germany, where he service as a CID investigator, Drug Suppression Team Chief, and the Detachment Sergeant from 1998 until 2001. In 2000, while with the 515th Military Police Detachment (CID), CSM Fitzgerald deployed to Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo ISO Task Force Falcon as the Detachment Sergeant for the 515th Military Police Detachment (CID)(CSE)(-).
CSM Fitzgerald’s next assignment was with the 31st Military Police Detachment (CID) (AASLT), Fort Campbell, KY where he served as the Detachment Sergeant from 2001 until 2003. In 2003, while assigned to the 31st Military Police Detachment (CID)(AASLT), CSM Fitzgerald was again deployed with the 87th Military Police Detachment (CID)(ABN) ISO Operation Enduring Freedom, Kandahar, Afghanistan, directly supporting Task Force Devil, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
CSM Fitzgerald’s next assignment was with the 1000th Military Police Battalion (CID), Fort Campbell, KY, where he served as the Battalion First Sergeant from 2003 until 2005. In 2005, CSM Fitzgerald was assigned to the 10th Military Police Battalion (CID)(ABN), Fort Bragg, NC, where he served as the Battalion Operations NCO. Two months after being assigned to the 10th Military Police Battalion (CID)(ABN), CSM Fitzgerald deployed with the 10th Military Police Battalion (CID)(ABN) ISO Operation Iraqi Freedom, Bagdad, Iraq. Shortly after he returned from his deployment to Iraq, CSM Fitzgerald was assigned to the 19th Military Police Battalion (CID), Yongsan, Korea where he served as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major from 2007 until 2009.
CSM Fitzgerald has a Bachelors Degree in science from Roger Williams University in Administration of Justice and is currently working on his Masters Degree in science from Northcentral University in Psychology. He has successfully completed the First Sergeant Course, ANCOC, BNCOC, WLC, the Air Assault Course at The Sabalauski Air Assault School in Fort Campbell, KY, and basic airborne course.
CSM Fitzgerald’s awards and decorations include but are not limited to; the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Parachutist Badge, German Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault badge.
