32nd/87th Military Police Detachments (CID)
The 32nd and 87th Military Police Detachments (CID) are headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and make-up the Fort Bragg CID Office. The Detachment’s core mission is to provide the highest quality criminal investigative support to the U.S. Army commanders within U.S. Army Forces Command and U.S. Army Reserve Command Headquarters; XVIII Airborne Corps; 82nd Airborne Division; Joint Special Operations Command; U.S. Army Special Operations Command; and U.S. Special Forces Command assigned to one of largest U.S. Army military installations, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Furthermore, on order, the Detachments provide investigative support for contingency operations throughout the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
The Fort Bragg Resident Agency (CID) converted to the 32nd and 87th Military Police Detachments (CID), which enabled both units to provide combat criminal investigative support as prescribed by higher headquarters during times of conflict or war. Since that time, the Detachments have continued their support to the Fort Bragg military installation and assist local law enforcement with investigations of an Army interest within the state of North Carolina. Both units have deployed special agents throughout the United States and worldwide to carry out the investigative mission of the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command.
The 87th MP Detachment (CID) spent 12 months in Afghanistan from 2002-2003, covering the entire Afghanistan theater of operation and conducted investigative operations from Bagram Airbase and Kandahar, Afghanistan.
The 32nd MP Detachment (CID) spent 12 months in Iraq from 2007-2008, covering the central Baghdad Area Of Responsibility in theater and conducting investigative operations from Baghdad, Balad, Taji, Mosul, and Abu Ghraib.
The 32nd/87th Military Police Detachments (CID) commander is SA Bruce Ridlen. The Detachment Sergeant is SA Fermanis.
