Lieutenant Colonel Larry Dewey hails from Cedar River, Michigan. A 1994 Distinguished Military Graduate from Northern Michigan University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps.
Lieutenant Colonel Dewey’s previous assignments include Platoon Leader, 570th and 272nd Military Police Companies, Mannheim, Germany; Confinement Officer, 9th MP Detachment, Mannheim, Germany; Commander, Fort Greely Military Police Detachment, Fort Greely, AK; Civil Affairs Team Leader, 96th Civil Affairs Bn, Fort Bragg, NC; Chief of Police Transition Team Operation, 18th Military Police Brigade, Baghdad, Iraq; Provost Marshal Operations Officer, Headquarters TRADOC, Fort Monroe, VA,; Deputy Commander, 8th Military Police Brigade, Schofield Barracks, HI.
His military education includes; the Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, Special Reaction Team Course, Counter Drug Investigator, S.E.R.E, Military Police Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Special Operations Language Course (German), Civil Affairs Officer Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Command and General Staff School where he also earned a Master’s degree in Security Management from Webster University.
